Seyðisfjarðarkirkja is one of the most characteristic churches in eastern Iceland, recognizable by its light blue color and rainbow street.

The church dates back to the 18th century, but has been moved, rebuilt, and relocated several times due to natural disasters that destroyed it. The church and its current location date back to 1922, and the organ dates back to 1987.

The formal language combines neo-Gothic motifs (steep roof, slender bell tower, arches) with the Icelandic tradition of imported and paneled timber-frame churches.
