Blue hour in Hallstatt

Hallstatt is one of the most iconic places in Austria. The small church on the Hallstatt lake creates a beautiful effect. I have taken this photo at the blue hour, just after the sunset.

Hallstatt is a small village located in the Salzkammergut region of Austria, known for its picturesque beauty and rich history. One interesting fact about Hallstatt is that it is the site of the world’s first known salt mine, which has been in operation since prehistoric times.

In addition to its salt mining history, Hallstatt is also known for its unique burial practices. The Hallstatt culture, which flourished in the area between the 8th and 6th centuries BCE, practiced a custom of burying their dead in small wooden boats, which were then placed in graves or buried in the ground. Many of these burial boats have been discovered in the area, providing a fascinating glimpse into the lives and customs of the ancient Hallstatt people.
