The Inntel Hotel in Zaandam is an extraordinary architectural achievement that celebrates the traditional houses of the Zaan region through a bold, contemporary interpretation. Inspired by the small cottages of the region and Claude Monet’s painting of the blue house of Zaandam, architect Wilfried van Winden set about creating a hotel that was both futuristic and retro simultaneously.

structure is built up from a varied stacking of almost seventy individual little houses, executed in four shades of the traditional green of the Zaan region is external walls look like 68 small houses, all piled up on top of each other.
