The Wieliczka Salt Mine, located just a few kilometers from Krak\u00f3w, Poland, is one of the oldest active salt mines in the world (established in the 13th century and commercially operated until 1996) and stands as one of the most fascinating and visited underground sites in Europe. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978, the complex extends over 240 kilometers of galleries spread across nine underground levels, reaching a maximum depth of approximately 327 meters.<\/h4>\n

An explorable section winding for approximately 3.5 kilometers at depths ranging from 64 to 135 meters, passing through tunnels, underground salt lakes, and ancient mining machinery.<\/h4>\n

The true jewel of the mine\u2014a majestic underground church located at a depth of 101 meters, carved entirely out of salt, including the floors, biblical bas-reliefs, altars, and salt-crystal chandeliers.<\/h4>\n

Thanks to the pure air, rich in saline aerosols, some underground chambers are now used as health and wellness centers for respiratory rehabilitation.<\/h4>\n
