Palau de la Musica Catalana

The Palau de la Música Catalana (Palace of Catalan Music) is located in Barcelona, Spain. It was built between 1905 and 1908 for the Orfeó Català, a choral society founded in 1891 that was a driving force in the Catalan cultural movement known as the Renaixença (Catalan Renaissance). It was inaugurated on February 9, 1908.

I think it’s one of the things you can’t miss when visiting Barcelona, even though it’s not so close to the center and the beaten path. When you enter, you notice the building’s distinctive round shape.

I think the stained-glass skylight at the top of the Palace is truly incredible.
This is what you can see from below, something truly beautiful and so colorful. It depicts a chorus of young women around the sun.

The shape of the glass is also three-dimensional and was created to give the idea of a chandelier with natural light and was designed by Antoni Rigalt

In fact, it is the only auditorium in Europe that receives sunlight.

The concert hall can accommodate 2200 people
